WaterWays

BioBlitz

Partners from the Chattanooga Zoo, Volkswagen, TN Ornithological Society joined us at the Summit Wetland at Enterprise South Nature Park to identify as many species as possible! Participants learned how to safely and respectfully flip logs and rocks in order to look for salamanders and amphibians. They also learned how to use binoculars and even got to see a blue heron nest! The fun continued when we put on muck boots and decided to wade into the wetland. We caught water scorpions, dragonfly nymphs, tadpoles, scuds, and more! All observations were loaded into iNaturalist and logged into the Enterprise South Nature Park wetland corridor map. Supplies and the specific iNaturalist map were provided by our friends at Discover Life in America who host the iScience program.
